How do you undo technology?
Is it like tearing your implant out and try to live without it, or is it just like throwing your crutches away, learning again to walk.
Consider the car. I must admit that I occasionally dream of a world without cars, or at least with much less. Then I watch another episode of "Game of Thrones" and wonder what a White Walker would do with a combustion engine.
But what about electricity. Can we undo the power grid?
Can we undo agriculture and be hunter-gatherers again?
Hmm.
What are the next steps? Brain implants and exoskeletons?
I guess this looks like a one-way dead-end street.
There seem to be options, however. We can differentiate the world into high and low tech-zones without today's divide into western and third worlds. At least it seems that we can trash our smart phones, light a candle and kiss someone we love.
Can we undo technology?
It seems easier to make gold out of lead by staring at it.
"Lets turn of the TV just for a while and whisper to each other in the dark" A 1990ies song.
Too many words again?
Undoing some technology might make this blog obsolete.
Maybe I could engrave something into rock, and call it a block.
Enough for today.
Buh-bye.
